The Question. SuperUser reader Rishat Muhametshin wants to know why some of his AC adapters and power supplies make a whining noise: I have many different AC adapters and power supplies for a variety of devices, ranging from small 5V/1A USB chargers to laptop power adapters and desktop PSUs. Finally the Culprit, my 'Corsair HX850 Gold Plus Power Supply'. The psu started making this faint electronic.click, tick or squeak. not sure.

l have a Corsair AX860i, and yesterday I place it in a new Personal computer that will be much even more quiet. Right now I hear a noiseless clicking sound arriving from it. I think it's i9000 coming from the powér supply at minimum. The sound can be deeper than Iike a mouse click.
The audio comes at regular time periods. (Can be that the appropriate phrasing?(British is not my native vocabulary))
I tried turning off all the lights in the area and after that look at it to discover if there where sparks, but I noticed nothing at all.
Anyone know what it could be?
Edit:
l have not attempted any video games yet, but Windows and Vapor appears to run fine. In case that issues.
